Benzoic acid and citric acid are different carboxylic acids.
Literature indicates that benzoic acid allergy does not overlap with citric acid allergy/intolerance.
It's advisable to perform a patch test with Hylo Forte on your skin before using it in your eye. If there's no reaction, it should be safe, but we cannot guarantee this for everyone.
If you notice any reactions in your eye, rinse with water or saline to flush out the product.
